SPG receives global support

On 28. August 2026, the chair of the SAS branch of the Swedish Airline Pilots' Association, captain Mattias Åman Thiel, was wrongfully dismissed with immediate effect from SAS. The global pilot community reacts unanimously to this severe breach of the right to unionise, and what seems to be an attempt to subdue industrial organisation among SAS pilots, and incite fear of retribution in case anyone were to speak up too loudly against management.

If such actions were to be allowed, it could seriously disrupt employment conditions for pilots across Europe and the world.
